Instead of inspiring, it often leads to decision-making paralysis. How to distinguish real diamonds from shiny fakes in this dense, digital jungle? How to choose AI tools that will actually solve our problems, and not become another dusty item in the budget? How to avoid costly mistakes that will undermine the confidence of the pedagogical council in any future innovations?

Making decisions in chaos, under the influence of a temporary fashion or the promises of a salesperson, is the simplest recipe for disaster. That’s why, before we spend even one zloty or devote even one hour to implementation, we need a reliable compass and a proven map. Does the company clearly declare that student data is not used for marketing purposes or to train external AI models? Agreeing to unclear terms and conditions is like signing a blank contract.
  • Protection against harmful content: Does the tool, especially those based on open language models, have built-in, effective filters to protect against the generation of vulgar, violent or disinformation content? This is crucial when we think about the student’s independent work.
  • Data minimization: Does the tool require you to create an account with complete data, or is an anonymous login or school email address enough? The principle is simple: the less data we share, the safer.

 E for PEDAGOGICAL EFFECTIVENESS – Does this tool really teach?

A safe tool that doesn’t bring educational value is just a safe waste of time. Here we evaluate the core – the pedagogical sense of the application.

  • Compliance with the Teaching Objectives: Do the tool’s functions directly support the implementation of the core curriculum and the development of key skills, or are they just a spectacular but empty “firework”?
  • A level of thinking that forces you to: This is the most important question. Does the tool encourage critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and creativity?
