The year 2025 poses specific challenges for Polish education. The announced changes in the education law and updates to the core curriculum put even more emphasis on developing key competences: critical thinking, cooperation, creativity and digital intelligence. Simple transmission of knowledge is a relic of the past. Today, our role is to create an environment for discovering it.

The new regulations, which will come into force in September 2025, require us not only to implement specific program points, but also to translate them into practical skills. The lesson plan must be designed in such a way that:

  • It integrated various fields of knowledge: No more object silos. A lesson about the forest is biology, ecology, mathematics (counting trees) and art (art work) at the same time.
  • He focused on the design and research method: The student is supposed to be an explorer, not a passive recipient. Problem questions and open-ended tasks should be the core of the classes.
  • He used neurodidactics in practice: Turning on movement, engaging many senses, working in short, intensive blocks and taking care of positive emotions is not a “nice addition”, but a condition for effective learning.

Financial challenges and teacher’s creativity

At the same time, we are facing economic realities. Limited budgets of institutions often make it impossible to purchase expensive teaching aids. The modern scenario must therefore be flexible and based on resources that are easily available: recyclable materials, digital tools (often free) and, above all, the potential of the group itself. Thanks to the methods you will learn later, you will learn how to create engaging and valuable learning experiences from seemingly simple elements.

Ready to Deploy: 2 Custom Scenarios

Before we uncover the secret to creating an infinite number of scenarios, I present three fully developed, ready-to-use lesson plans that address the challenges of modern education.

Scenario 1: Little Climate Explorers: Mission to Save a Drop of Water (Age: 5-6 years)

  • Main objective: Shaping pro-ecological attitudes and understanding the importance of water in nature.
  • Specific objectives: The child knows where the water comes from; understands why it should be saved; can indicate examples of water conservation; cooperates in a group.
  • Methods: Brainstorming, research experiment, drama, art work, physical play.
  • Materials: A large bowl of water, pipettes, sponges, stones, soil, plastic bottles, blue tissue paper, glue, a large sheet of paper, illustrations of the water cycle in nature, a recording of the sounds of rain and a flowing stream.
  • Course of the class (approx. 45 min):

(Introduction – 5 min.) Children sit in a circle, close their eyes and listen to recordings of the sounds of water. The teacher asks, “What do you hear? What do you associate this sound with?” A short brainstorming session on where we can find water.

  1. (Experiment: “Dirty River” – 15 min) In the middle of the room there is a bowl of clean water (“our river”). Children “pollute” it one by one, throwing soil, scraps of paper, plastic caps. They are watching what is happening. Then they try to purify the water with sponges and strainers. Discussion: Has the water been purified 100%? Why is it important to keep rivers clean?
  2. (Movement game: “Dance of droplets” – 5 min) Children turn into water droplets. When the music is playing (the sound of rain), they move freely around the room. For a break in music, they form “puddles” (they join in small groups).
  3. (Artwork: “Water cycle in nature” – 15 min) Children create a common poster on a large sheet of paper depicting the water cycle. They use blue tissue paper to glue rivers and clouds, draw the sun, trees and rain. During the work, the teacher tells a simple story about the journey of a drop of water.
  4. (Summary – 5 min) The children sit around the poster. The teacher asks: “What new have you learned about water today? How can we take care of it in our kindergarten and at home?” Writing down children’s ideas.

Scenario 2: Digital Detectives: How to Recognize Fake News? (Age: 9-11 years)

  • Main objective: Developing critical thinking competences and the ability to verify information on the Internet.
  • Specific objectives: The student is able to define the concept of “fake news”; knows the basic methods of verifying sources; can indicate the features of unreliable information; understands the implications of spreading disinformation.
  • Methods: Guided discussion, group work, the “snowball” method, case study.
  • Materials: Interactive whiteboard or projector, Internet access, pre-prepared examples of real and fake news (e.g. in the form of screenshots), worksheets for groups.
  • Course of the class (approx. 45 min):

(Introduction – 10 min) The teacher displays two article headlines on the board: one real but sensational (e.g. “Scientists have discovered a new species of deep-sea fish”), the other false but sounding plausible (e.g. “Candy from a popular supermarket causes green skin!”). The students vote which one is real. Discussion: Why is it so difficult to distinguish truth from falsehood on the Internet?

  1. (Group work: “Characteristics of fake news” – 15 min) Students in groups of 4 receive worksheets with several examples of fake news. Their task is to list all the features that seem suspicious to them (e.g. flashy title, lack of author, language errors, strange website address, photos from a different context).
  2. (Creating a checklist – 10 min.) Each group presents its conclusions. The teacher writes them down on the board, creating a common “Digital Detective Checklist”. The list may include points: Check the author, Check the source, Check the date, Look for information on other sites, Pay attention to the emotions that the text evokes.
  3. (Summary and reflection – 10 min) Students go back to the headings from the beginning of the lesson and analyze them using a newly created checklist. Discussion: Why do people create fake news? What can be the consequences of sharing them? What can I do if I come across suspicious information?

Pre-made scenarios are a great starting point, but the real magic begins when you can create them yourself, on any topic, in a few minutes. It’s the secret that allows you to save hours of work and regain the joy of creating. The key is to skillfully “talk” to artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT.

The Art of Creating Prompts: A Simple Formula for the Perfect Script

Forget about general questions. To get a professional, ready-to-use script, you need to be precise. Use the formula below and the results will surprise you.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is it ethical and legal to use AI to write screenplays ?
Yes, as long as you treat AI as an assistant and inspiration, not an author. The final version of the scenario must always be verified, adapted and “filtered” by your pedagogical knowledge and knowledge of the group. Copyright to AI-generated content is a complex issue, but there are currently no contraindications in the context of creating materials for your own educational use.

2. How do I adapt the AI-generated scenario to the needs of my group?
It’s a key part of your job. Once you’ve generated your template, think about it: which kids in my group need more support and which need more challenges? Do the proposed games correspond to the temperament of my students? What modifications should be made to include children with special educational needs? AI gives you a skeleton, and you, as an expert, give it a soul.

3. Where to get funds for non-standard teaching materials, if the scenarios require them?
Creativity is essential. Many of the best activities are based on recycled materials (bottles, cartons, newspapers), nature’s gifts (leaves, chestnuts, pebbles), and resources you already own. It is also worth applying for educational grants, establishing cooperation with local companies or organizing collections in cooperation with the Parents’ Council.

4. How to document innovative classes in accordance with the requirements of pedagogical supervision?
Each innovative scenario (especially with the use of AI or the project method) should have clearly defined goals, in line with the core curriculum. In the documentation (e.g. in the electronic diary), it is worth briefly describing the methods used, the tools used and, most importantly, the learning outcomes (what the students have achieved). Attaching photos or short videos from the class (with the consent of parents) is an excellent proof of the implementation of innovative activities.
